American Psycho
In American Psycho, I found there were two apparent themes throughout. Patrick Bateman's facade, hiding himself from himself and from others, and it being a commentary on american society of mass consumption and materialistic lifestyles. I latched onto the commentary of american society and thought about what would say "money" without being money. Landing on the end product of an experience that Batemen never seems to be able to achieve, but kills because of it. Bateman slashes his way to the top killing any competitor that threatens him.
